Jerry van Kooten,
Twelfth Night

Right out of the blue, Andy S and Clive announced some very exciting news. On this very website's Message Board as well as on the mailing lists, they announced that they were planning two shows of live Twelfth Night music in the autumn of 2007. "The time was right", they explained. The line-up was discussed with Brian and Andy R who, whilst being interested, had not been musically active for a long time. With Rick being unavailable, Mark Spencer was brought in on keyboards (ex LaHost, ex flatmate of Andy S, and engineer with Clive in the latter's Animal House studio, where The Collector and Love Song were recorded for Collectors Item). A rehearsal was planned to gauge interest level and abilities - just to see if it was possible.

And it was!

An official concert has been announced for Saturday 2007-11-24 at The Albany Theatre (London - Deptford). The concert will be recorded (audio and video) for possible CD and DVD release in the future. Fans from all over Europe have been buying tickets for this special occasion.

A warm-up gig at The Peel was also announced, for Saturday 2007-11-17. Originally, this was billed under the formerly used (and not-so-cryptic) Jan Six and the Cryptic Clues. Since then it is now billed under the band's true name.

Right from the start, many talented people offered their services to the band. Photographer Paul Davies is responsible for the original photograhs from which the press release photos came. Designer Paul Tippet of Vitamin P, who was responsible for the It Bites album artwork, among other projects, has produced a new band logo and a poster design for the Albany gig, as well as designs for merchandise. The new colour photos here have been created by Andy S using Paul Davies' photos, a little Photoshop magic, and a lot of coffee.

Here are some pictures from the first rehearsal session at Nutbrown Studios (now closed).

The first hints of the set-list were given. The band intend to play a set ranging from the Fact And Fiction album through Art And Illusion to XII (aka The Virgin Album), with possibly "a wee instrumental". On a special note, they are going to play the entire Fact And Fiction, 45 minutes uninterrupted!

A few weeks later, a second rehearsal was held.

The first hints of the setlist were given. The band are planning to do a set ranging from Fact And Fiction to the Virgin Album, with possibly "a wee instrumental". Special note that they are going to play the Fact And Fiction album as a whole, 45 minutes from We Are Sane up to and including Creepshow.

A few weeks later, a second rehearsal was held, Saturday 2007-10-27 another one.

The Peel is a small venue, and reminded some people of the old Marquee. Great reception from the crowd!

Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 November, the band rehearsed at the Albany. Saturday 24 it was the big day.
