Credits The album was recorded on November 4th (G-223) and 5th (G-224), 1983. Earlier in the year, Geoff had announced his wish to leave the band. The band then decided to do a farewell gig, and record it for a release. I don't know which songs were from which of the two dates, but I know for sure Love Song (CD bonus track) is from 1983-11-05 (G-224). The End Of The Endless Majority was recorded during the soundcheck on 1983-11-05, to an audience of about five people, and I think Mark Hughes would like me to mention he was one of those five... :-) During the soundcheck on one of the two dates, Deep In The Heartland was also recorded, but remains unreleased till this day. Before there was a deal with Music For Nations to release this album, it was going to be on the band's own label, Twelfth Night Records, catalog number TN-007. Because of that catalog number, the band wanted to have the title of the album to refer to a James Bond title, and Live And Let Live was decided upon. Artwork
This is the photo printed on the inside of the fold-out cover and, in this case, the middle pages of the CD booklet. The Cyclops CYCL 050 CD has this picture in black and white. The fan club used to sell large posters of this same photograph.
Releases The album was released in the UK by Music For Nations in a gatefold sleeve. Their licensees on the European mainland (Music For Nation's French affiliate and Roadrunner in Holland) released the LP in a single sleeve. Please note that a later pressing of the French edition by mistake got the LP labels of Art And Illusion. If anybody has this edition, please contact me. CD It was one of Geoff's biggest wishes to see this album released on CD. Released in June, he sadly just missed it. The album was re-released for the first time on CD by the now defunct Dutch label SI Music. Later, Cyclops took over the release of the CD and changed the booklet slightly, especially the last page. The track listing remained the same as on the SI Music CD release. SI did a good job on the bonus tracks. I am glad they decided to use Creepshow as a bonus track. Great version! East Of Eden was played in a medley of Art And Illusion / East Of Eden. The CD was getting too long, and Love Song just had to be on this CD, so Art And Illusion was left off. This track has been included on Recorded Delivery, a CD in the GMCDR series, together with the other unreleased encore, Aspidentropy. Korean Releases
In 1995, SI Music licensed the rights for a Korean release to Si-Wan Records. They released both a CD (same tracks as the SI CD) and an LP (same tracks as the original LP release). Above are the LP's A and B side labels. The CD contains a history of the band on the inside of the four-page 'booklet'. The LP has an insert with probably the same story on one side, and advertisements for more albums on the same record label on the other. Cyclops Cyclops re-released the CD in 1996. For the first pressing, the centre pages in the booklet (which show the photo that is also on the inside of the gatefold sleeve) were printed in black and white, which was correced in later pressings. From this album, the songs The Ceiling Speaks and Creepshow are also included on the compilation album Collectors Item (LP, not the CD).
