Recorded at Revolution Studios, Cheadle Hulme, Chesire, England, Summer 1982. Info These tracks were recorded during the sessions for the Fact And Fiction album. The owner of Revolution Studios was a huge Beatles fan, and spent a lot of time in recording and mixing Eleanor Rigby. In fact he spent so much time on doing so, that the band eventually decided to buy back all the rights to the recordings and release the Fact And Fiction album themselves. The single was sold in a plain paper sleeve, no cover was designed. I don't know why, as Geoff could easily have done this. Saving printing costs? "Eleanor Rigby" Well, a well-known Beatles song of course. This is probably the only cover tune the band has ever recorded (apart from the Geoff Mann song Picadilly Square on Mannerisms). Keyboards instead of a string section, making the sound fuller than the original. I don't know why the band chose to record a cover tune, and why this one. "East Of Eden" Originally intended to be included on the album, Re-release Although East Of Eden is also available on Smiling At Grief, the versions on this 7" single remained unavailable elsewhere until the Cyclops re-issue of Fact And Fiction.
